“It’s Friday but Sunday’s coming”…so goes the saying popularized by Tony Campolo.

     Easter is coming! It won’t be long now. Lent is meant to be the preparatory countdown for the greatest celebration on earth. Holy week begins with Palm Sunday. You can retrace the steps of Jesus throughout the whole time. I was in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday a couple of years ago. As we passed the Mount of Olives, my heart raced as I imagined that fateful day over 2000 years ago. Yes, I was in Jerusalem but now Jerusalem is in me. That’s the point.

 Right now “Jerusalem” can be in your very soul. I find the gospel of Mark to be the best source to retrace the passion week. We have the entire week printed out. If you would like a copy just ask my faithful secretary Betty for one.

 Easter!

 E is for evidence

A is for adoration

S is for service

T is for triumph

E is for elation

R is for remembrance

 If I ever get to write a book I think the title would be, “The Truth Is Hard To Swallow.” Not because it is intellectually untenable to “believe” but it is hard to accept the inescapable ramifications of the resurrection.

If Jesus is alive, I am accountable to Him.

If Jesus is alive, there is a heaven and hell.

If Jesus is alive, there is meaning to life.

If Jesus is alive, all other religions are false.

 Yes, the truth is hard to swallow unless of course you really want to know.

The empty tomb is an invitation.

“Come see the place where the Lord lay.”
