Time to Fall back…………………..
It’s time to fall back on the 27th
of October.
We
gain an extra hour of sleep or play depending on how one looks at it.
Significant events occurred in Biblical history this time of year.
8:1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of
the tribes, the princes of the fathers' houses of the children of
Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of
Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion. 8:2All
the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast of
Tabernacles, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month. 8:3All
the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. 8:4They
brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the tent of meeting….1st Kings

Nehemiah 8
10Then
he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send
portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our
Lord. Don't be grieved; for the joy of Yahweh is your strength. 8:11So
the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is
holy; neither be you grieved. 8:12All the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send
portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that
were declared to them. 8:13On
the second day were gathered together the heads of fathers' houses of
all the people, the priests, and the Levites, to Ezra the scribe, even to give
attention to the words of the law. 8:14They
found written in the law, how that Yahweh had commanded by Moses, that the
children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month; 8:15and
that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem,
saying, Go forth to the mountain, and get olive branches, and branches of wild
olive, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to
make booths, as it is written. 8:16So the people went forth, and brought
them, and made themselves booths, everyone on the roof of his house, and in
their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the broad place of
the water gate, and in the broad place of the gate of Ephraim. 8:17All
the assembly of those who were come again out of the captivity made booths,
and lived in the booths; for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that
day the children of Israel had not done so. There was very great gladness. 8:18Also
day by day, from the first day to the last day, he read in the book of the law
of God. They kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn
assembly, according to the ordinance.
John 17
Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He wouldn't walk in Judea, because the Jews
sought to kill Him. 7:2Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was at hand. 7:3His
brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here, and go into Judea,
that Your disciples also may see Your works which You do. 7:4For
no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to be known openly. If You
do these things, reveal Yourself to the world." 7:5For
even His brothers didn't believe in Him.

14:8It will happen in that day, that living waters will go out from
Jerusalem; half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the
western sea; in summer and in winter will it be.
14:9Yahweh will be King over all the earth. In that day Yahweh will
be One, and His name One. 14:10All
the land will be made like the Arabah, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem;
and she will be lifted up, and will dwell in her place, from Benjamin's gate
to the place of the first gate, to the corner gate, and from the tower of
Hananel to the king's winepresses. 14:11Men will dwell therein, and there
will be no more curse; but Jerusalem will dwell safely. 14:12This
will be the plague with which Yahweh will strike all the peoples who have
warred against Jerusalem: their flesh will consume away while they stand on
their feet, and their eyes will consume away in their sockets, and their
tongue will consume away in their mouth. 14:13It
will happen in that day, that a great panic from Yahweh will be among them;
and they will lay hold everyone on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand will
rise up against the hand of his neighbor. 14:14Judah
also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations
will be gathered together: gold, and silver, and clothing, in great abundance.
14:15So will be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel,
and of the donkey, and of all the animals that will be in those camps, as that
plague. 14:16It will happen that everyone who is left of all the nations that
came against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King,
Yahweh of Armies, and to keep the feast of tents. 14:17It
will be, that whoever of all the families of the earth doesn't go up to
Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh of Armies, on them there will be no
rain. 14:18If
the family of Egypt doesn't go up, and doesn't come, neither will it rain on
them. This will be the plague with which Yahweh will strike the nations that
don't go up to keep the feast of tents. 14:19This will be the punishment of Egypt,
and the punishment of all the nations that don't go up to keep the feast of
tents.
Why not search your
Bible and find the times when this season is mentioned and what was (or will
be) occurring. Start at Leviticus 23 and trace the times and meanings of all
the festivals. They all point towards Messiah. Some are yet to be fulfilled
when He comes in glory .Can you name the extra Biblical holiday celebrated by
our Jewish friends? This festival was inspired by the events in the Book of
Esther.
Feast of
Booths, Succoth, the Feast of Ingathering, or "the season of our
rejoicing," the Feast of Tabernacles begins at the full moon of the
seventh month. Like Passover, it is a harvest festival. Just as Passover marks
the beginning of the summer dews, Tabernacles begins the season of winter
rains. It is the end of the harvest year, harvest home, and the beginning of a
new agricultural year.
Booths
remind Israel of the time when they wandered through the wilderness on their
journey from Egypt to the Promised Land, as well as being reminders of the
Temple, as the First and Second Temples were dedicated during the Feast of
Booths.
Right around the
corner comes the Feast of Dedication,
The Greek name for
"Chanukah,"= a celebration of the rededication of the Temple.

10:22It was the Feast
of the Dedication
at Jerusalem. It was the Feast

at Jerusalem. 10:23It
was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon's porch. 10:24The Jews therefore came
around Him and said to Him, "How long will you hold us in suspense? If
you are the Christ, tell us plainly." 10:25Jesus
answered them, "I told you, and you don't believe. The works that I do in
my Father's name, these testify about Me. 10:26But
you don't believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I told you. 10:27My sheep hear My voice,
and I know them, and they follow Me. 10:28I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will
snatch them out of My hand. 10:29My
Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to
snatch them out of My Father's hand. 10:30I
and the Father are one." 10:31Therefore
Jews took up stones again to stone him. 10:32Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from my
Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?" 10:33The
Jews answered him, "We don't stone you for a good work, but for
blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God."

For
the Church, Christmas begins to cycle of the Church year. It is no
co-incidence these holidays occur so closely to each other.
I
love them all……..More soon, so stay tuned!
Shalom
